Although RFID technology has been around for many years, only recently has it become cost effective
to implement this technology in the management and control of the supply chain and other applications. A strategic
plan can address:
- RFID Market - What is the state of the technology, including hardware, software and RFID enabled applications
available now and in the near future for practical implementation?
- Drivers - Who and what are the major drivers for using this technology? What is the current status
of the compliance requests by commercial and government interests?
- Standards Status - What is the current status of the standards being developed by UCC and ePCglobal?
- Challenges - What are the real-life implementation challenges and limits of the technology?
- Recommended Approaches - For your industry and company, where (in priority order) does it make sense
to consider implementing RFID . What best practices apply to you?
- Potential Costs/Benefits - What would be the major cost elements for the recommended approaches?

This offering would provide a more in-depth review and assessment of a company's operations, along with the feasibility
of RFID technology relative to the specific products, applications and processes. This effort would include on-site
visits with the company's key business and IT leaders. It would include collection, analysis, and documentation
of specific information addressing:
- Current AutoID Environment including a survey to collect and analyze company operational data
- RFID Requirements including the identification and documentation of current ID problems, potential RFID
solutions, and high priority RFID initiatives
- Cost/Benefit Projections to determine the highest priority initiative(s) vs. available budget
-
ROI analysis to identify and quantify expected delivered bottom-line benefits
and required level of investment for a company's RFID initiative. This analysis explores the areas of impacted business performance
metrics and bottom-line results and addresses the resulting ROI and payback horizon for the RFID initiative.
-
Initial
Development Plan that emphasizes getting started and moving ahead in a phased manner, according to the highest
priority initiative(s) agreed upon

Application Process Optimization
|
In some cases a more in-depth analysis of a company's processes and workflow may be necessary, prior to implementation,
in order to determine the better alternative(s) for RFID implementation, or to determine more accurate information for
a cost-benefit analysis. This offering could also be used to determine the amount of work required to implement
a selected alternative. The Aanza AutoID Group offers RFID and business process expertise to determine on a more
detailed level, the changes required to a company's current processes for the successful implementation of RFID. In this
case, Aanza AutoID would perform such an analysis and provide a more detailed design document. The document would consist
of changes required for RFID relative to:
- Workflow
- Physical Environment
- Packaging
- Tags
- Readers
- Printers
- RFID Data Collection Software
- Supply Chain Management Software

Implementation Project Assistance
|
Once a cost-justified RFID direction has been established and a company decides to modify their current supply chain
processes for RFID, it may be necessary to supplement customer resources during the implementation. These additional
resources can include RFID skills and manpower necessary to deliver a quality installation, while still maintaining standards
in the existing production environment. Supplemental resources can be used either in a project lead or project task execution
mode for:
- Project Management
- Business Analysis
- System Design
- Software Modification and Development
- Testing
- Training
- Conversion
Experienced resources for these services can be provided through Aanza AutoID Group and its partners.
